VAAP presents at IJC convening

VAAP Director Honored on “Learning to Lead” Panel at IJC Alumni Convening

We’re thrilled to share that VAAP Executive Director Jill Martin Diaz was honored as a featured panelist at the inaugural Immigrant Justice Corps (IJC) Alumni Convening on Friday, March 21st at Fordham Law School.

Speaking on the “Learning to Lead: Transitioning to Supervision and Management” panel, Jill joined a lineup of distinguished IJC alumni and national leaders in immigrant justice before an audience of about 150 attendees. Other panels focused on movement lawyering and the Laiken Riley Act.

The convening, hosted by Immigrant Justice Corps and the Feerick Center for Social Justice, celebrated eleven years of the IJC Fellowship’s impact across the country. Jill, a proud IJC Justice Fellow from the Class of 2016, shared insights from her path to leadership as the founding Executive Director of the Vermont Asylum Assistance Project.

We’re proud to see Jill and VAAP’s work recognized among such inspiring movement leaders—thank you, IJC, for the honor.
