VAAP trains 150+ VT govt attorneys

VAAP joined Dr. Omara Rivera-Vazquez of St. Michael’s College, Attorney Lindsey Owen of Disability Rights VT, and Assistant Attorney General Emily Chamberlain Adams of the Attorney General’s Office Civil Rights Unit to share Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) best practices as a necessary component of ensuring meaningful access to justice in Vermont. We were joined by a live audience of about 25 in-person attendees and about 125 online attendees from the AGO and other state agencies’ legal divisions. Attorney General Charity Clark was in attendance and thanked presenters for what was an information presentation. If you do legal work for the state and are looking for meaningful volunteer opportunities with virtually no possibility of a conflict of interest (as immigration is federal), please get in touch and review our website to learn more about our volunteer-driven services.
