IJC Awards VAAP a Third Legal Fellow
Welcoming Catalina Londono as VAAP's Newest Katzmann Justice Fellow!
We’re thrilled to announce that Catalina Londono will join the Vermont Asylum Assistance Project (VAAP) as a Katzmann Justice Fellow for 2025-2027, bringing our Immigrant Justice Corps (IJC) cohort to three incredible fellows! Catalina joins Emma Matters-Wood and Cam Briggs Ramos, who are already making remarkable strides in supporting humanitarian status seekers across Vermont.
Catalina comes to VAAP with an inspiring background and an unwavering commitment to immigrants’ and workers’ rights. A Peggy Browning Fund Fellow, Catalina honed her legal skills this past summer with Migrant Justice/Justicia Migrante, where she worked on issues at the intersection of labor law and immigration justice. Drawing from her studies in world religions and Arabic, as well as her hands-on experience as an intake specialist at Vermont Law and Graduate School’s Immigration Clinic, Catalina is a true force for workplace justice and community empowerment.
As a Katzmann Justice Fellow, Catalina will focus on advancing access to legal representation for asylum seekers and other vulnerable immigrants in Vermont, reinforcing VAAP’s mission to deliver equitable, compassionate, and trauma-informed legal support. Her expertise and dedication will bolster our work at a time when it’s more crucial than ever. Catalina’s journey reflects her passion for public interest law and advocacy for immigrant and worker power. We’re excited to witness the impact she will make at VAAP and beyond as she contributes to building a more just and inclusive society.
Catalina starts IJC bootcamp in September and joins the VAAP staff in October. Please join us in giving Catalina a warm welcome and celebrating her incredible achievements!
