BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) - A Vermont migrant advocacy group says its efforts have effectively been shut down by the federal funding freeze.

The Vermont Asylum Assistance Project says they had to furlough two legal fellows following the Trump administration’s order halting funding for refugee resettlement services.

Those fellows provide legal help for immigrant workers and families in Vermont.

The organization’s executive director says they will continue to fight, regardless.
